At BigStuf, we know that getting students to camp takes a team effort. As a youth leader, you play a crucial role in inspiring your students to sign up for an unforgettable week. To make it easy for you to promote BigStuf to your group, we’ve put together a complete guide to help you get the word out and get students to register.
Step 1: Choosing Your Registration Approach
Option 1: If you have a good idea of how many students will attend, reserve a set number of spots for your group with an $80 deposit per spot. This secures the best rates, and if more students decide to join, you can always add spots.
Option 2: If you’re unsure of the turnout, let students sign up individually through your group, then registering the entire group with BigStuf once registration is closed. Just note that this option may miss the best rates, and special lodging requests may be limited.
With your plan in place, here’s how to promote BigStuf and get your students excited.
Step 2: Use Our Promo Pack
We’ve compiled a promo pack with everything you need for an effective BigStuf campaign! This pack includes:
- Promotional videos and highlight reels from last year
- Photos and promotional copy
- Social media graphics for different stages, like price increases and registration deadlines
Feel free to share these resources on your group’s social media, emails, and wherever your students and their parents connect with your ministry. If you need a custom graphic, reach out to us—we’ll do our best to help!
Tip: When you post, tag @bigstufcamps so we can repost!
Step 3: Suggested Posting Schedule
To help with timing, here’s a suggested schedule for keeping BigStuf top-of-mind as students and parents consider signing up.
2 Weeks Before Registration Opens
- Stage Announcement: Give a shoutout to BigStuf during your Sunday service, letting students know registration is opening soon, and don't forget to use the 16x9 visuals in the promo pack to show on- screen.
Registration Day
- Email Blast: Send an email to parents with photos, graphics, and an intro to BigStuf. Use our "Why BigStuf" graphics to help parents understand what makes BigStuf so special. Need help with the language to include in your email blast? Check out the Promotional Copy Guide in the Promo Pack.
- Social Media: Post a registration announcement on your feed and a promo video on your story (or vice versa!).
In Between: Weekly Reminders
- Stage Announcements: Keep mentioning BigStuf weekly or every other week to build momentum and excitement.
- Social Media: Use our "Tag who you’re excited to see" graphic to encourage students to tag their friends and get excited.
1 Week Before Price Increase
- Email Reminder to Parents: Let parents know that a price increase is coming up. Use the graphic for this reminder from your promo pack.
In Between: Building Excitement
- Social Media Post: Share highlights from last year’s BigStuf experience or a testimonial from a student. This helps parents and students see the value BigStuf brings.
4 Weeks Before Registration Closes
- Email Blast: Send an email with a strong final call to action. Make sure parents know this is their last chance to register and secure a spot for their student.
Day Before Registration Closes
- Final Reminder Email: Send one last email with a graphic showing that registration closes the next day.
- Social Media Post: Post a reminder on your feed and story to create urgency.
