BigStuf Happens in Small Groups

Why Small Groups?

click for answer

Implementing small groups allows you to directly connect with your students after each session. Our hope is that small group is a place where your students are able to dissect what they learned in session, grow in community with one another and grow stronger in relationship with Jesus Christ.

When And Where Do Small Groups Take Place?

click for answer

Small groups take place immediately after each morning and evening session. We ask that small groups meet outside of the main building where sessions are held. Staying in the main building can be a little distracting as we are rehearsing for the next session while small groups are meeting. Hotel rooms and any outside area is fair game for your group to huddle up!

Will My Students Be In Small Groups With Students From Other Churches?

click for answer

No! Small groups will take place within each individual church group. Because your students will be going home together, we want them to bond, grow and challenge one another with the hope that they will continue doing so when they get home.

Who Will Be Leading Small Groups?

click for answer

All small groups will be lead by those within your church group. If you already have a system set up for small groups, great! Follow that system. We don’t want to change what your group is already doing. If you do not already have small groups in place, we encourage you to divide your students into groups of no larger than 10 students of the same gender to function as their small group for the week (a great tip is to just make each hotel room their own small group). Small group materials and questions are designed in a way that groups can be student lead so if you don’t have enough chaperones to lead small groups, no worries!

My Students And Leaders Are Not Trained To Lead A Small Group. Will BigStuf Help Us Out?

click for answer

Absolutely! We have training videos that you and your leaders can watch before you arrive at camp. These videos help those who will be leading small groups feel comfortable and confident in their role. We will also have a small group leader guide available for every small group leader when they arrive at camp. The leader guide will include all the discussion questions for each session as well as tips on how to get conversation going, ideas for fun activities to do with your group outside of small group time and anything else you can think of to help you ensure your small group time is a success.
