7. HOW MANY ADULT LEADERS IS MY GROUP REQUIRED TO BRING?

We believe you know your students better than we do, so please use your discretion as to how many leaders you need to bring. Each group is responsible for its own students.

8. IS THERE ANY MAJOR BENEFIT FOR YOUTH LEADERS/ADULT VOLUNTEERS AT BIGSTUF?

Absolutely! Every summer Reggie Joiner, the founder of Orange, joins us to do a Youth Leader Training for 3 days of the conference. All leaders are invited to sit under the phenomenal wisdom and teaching of Reggie during our 11 O’Clock Hour while students are being entertained in the arena.

12. WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS DURING FREE TIME?

Your students can enjoy the beach and pools at your hotel. Daytona Beach also offers several places to ride go-karts, play mini golf, and play laser tag. The Daytona Lagoon water park is right across the street from the arena and is a great option as well. For more information about activities available in Daytona Beach, visit www.daytonabeach.com.

13. WHAT IS THE GROUP TIME LISTED ON THE SCHEDULE ALL ABOUT?

After each night session, leaders join with their students in a time to debrief from the session. Amazing discussions begin to take place as students ask questions and simply share the work God is doing in them. It is a great time for leaders to truly mentor their students as the students begin to open up more and more.

14. IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE CONFERENCE?

There are always several questions about appropriate attire on the beach as well as in the arena, and we are aware that some youth leaders have different standards than others. The reason for our parameters is so that the focus of the conference will not be altered and so that we do not have to waste energy being dress code police. It is of great importance that your leadership properly guides the focus of the conference. You may or may not agree, but we want to keep the conference with as little distractions as possible. We expect to see no navels during the week, so we do not allow two-piece bathing suits. Yes, we only allow one-piece bathing suits. We understand that not all one-pieces are quite modest enough, so when you talk to your students please be clear on what is and is not appropriate beachwear. We do not like to see t-shirts with the wrong kind of message either, so you may want to set boundaries with your students on this as well. In general, the dress code is to be smart and be respectful.

15. WHAT DO MY STUDENTS NEED TO BRING?

Students need to bring beach towels, sunscreen, water bottles, flip-flops, one-piece bathing suits, shorts, t-shirts, Bibles, and journals. Bed linens and bath towels are provided in the hotel rooms. Students may also want to bring extra spending money for snacks and the BigStuf Store (t-shirts, CDs, etc.).
